  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

I am a researcher at the interdisciplinary design-led research lab \'Imagination Lancaster\' at Lancaster University in the UK. I am interested in the social, ethical and policy implications of digital technology, and how to approach these using design methods such as speculative design and design fiction. Previously I have used this approach to carry out research on topics such as transparency and governance in public space Internet of Things deployments, and the use of AI and data collaboration in the food sector. I am currently part of a new research group looking at the use of design research in policy making, with a particular focus on technology and placemaking. I also have an interest in online interactions and communities, and have published some work on technology appropriation and use by fan communities, such as live streaming to create hybrid digital/physical spaces at conventions, and communal television viewing via Twitch.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

I would be interested in joining any project that would welcome contributions from a design methodology perspective.
