    We are a group of researchers interested in research in the area of digitalisation with a user perspective in the focus. We work in an interdisciplinary unit Connected Societies within Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE). The competence and expertise that we have covers such areas as design research, user research, deep knowledge of payment services and Scandinavian and Baltic payments market.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

    Due to digital transformation, new digital payment services (e.g., mobile payments, in-app and one-click payments) simplify the process of purchasing; fast loan services available over internet and SMS allow quick access to money on-demand. All this has a number of societal and economic consequences including high level of debt of the population and increasing level of poverty. The project would be focused on: How different groups of society manage their economy/ personal finance? A special focus is on individuals and groups that are at higher risk of becoming financially vulnerable (e.g., gamers, elderly people, young people, young families, immigrants). What are risks? What kind of support an individual needs to be able to create better awareness and understanding of difficulties and problems relate to personal finance? How do individuals perceive their own financial situation at the time of purchase / from the credit perspective? Which agreements and commitments the person enters into for online / mobile payments / credit? What are consequences of lack of understanding and control over personal finances, ability to pay, and credit commitments? What is the interest of different companies and authorities in the individual\'s finances and behavior? How information and data about payment transactions, the consumer\'s economy and consumption behavior are handled; mapped, shared and sold? And what does this mean for the individual, in particularly, to groups having a higher risk?
