  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

    The IDIVAL Mental Disorders Research Group has long experience (over 20 years) in the study of cognitive and functional deficits in schizophrenia spectrum disorders. We have recently incorporated digital neuropsychology and virtual reality, as well as biometrics (eye tracking, pupillometry and thermal imaging) into the assessment of cognitive processes such as emotion recognition. In addition, we are planning to incorporate language and motor features (captured from both audio and video) to explore identifiable patterns for abnormal neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative processes. Our focus is on improving diagnosis tools using biometrics measurements in combination with clinical scales and neuropsychological test, and applying artificial intelligence and machine learning methods. These new approached might represent great advances on mental illnesses prevention, early detection and individually tailored treatments.

    The research group that I represent, can provide a comprehensive appropach in the study of cognitive and functional déficits in mental disorders, specially in SSD and other neurodevelopmental disorders. We are looking for opportunities to participate in consortia where we can contribute our current area of expertise, and to work on the impact of new technologies in the pursuit of prevention, early detection and personalised medicine.
