The Centre employs a team of leading researchers in the field of big data, data analytics and future foresight. Currently KSU is implementing an ambitious R&D project “Platforms of Big Data Foresight (PLATBIDAFO)” funded by Lithuanian Science Council. The project is addressing smart specialization challenges and trends of the future, with particular attention to the uneven economic and regional development problems. The main result of the project – the big data platform for future foresights – is a tool for identifying and analysing societal issues, anticipating future development scenarios and selecting appropriate strategies for business and public policy decisions. Big data and future foresight tools being investigated in the project enable to address business development, economic growth and other challenges and open up new ways and means of more effective and accurate anticipation of future scenarios and the choice of data-driven action strategies.
