Dr Mateusz Sobczyk

 

Dr Mateusz Sobczyk is a biologist specialising in microbiology, ecology, and evolution. He graduated with Master's degree in Biology from the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. In 2019, he completed his PhD studies in ecology at the Faculty of Biology of the Jagiellonian University with the thesis "Analysis of the possibility of using protozoa inhabiting activated sludge to evaluate the efficiency of wastewater treatment".

He has participated in six research projects financed by the European Union, NCN, FPS, NCRD and NFEPWM. In 2015, he did a short fellowship at the Technische Universität Kaiserslautern in Germany. During his research, he has cooperated with private companies and local government units. He is a co-author of 17 scientific publications in international journals and an international patent (EP 14731401.7).

Since August 2020, he has worked as a Scientific Coordinator for Life Sciences at the National Science Centre.
