  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

    I am currently working as an Assistant Lecturer, at Muni University. I hold a Master of Science in Microbiology, Kampala International University, Uganda; and Bachelor of Biomedical Laboratory Technology, Makerere University, Uganda. I have over 7 years experience in academic research in microbiological research in infectious diseases with a focus on antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial discovery from natural sources like bio-prospecting microorganisms and medicinal plants. I have authored and co-authored several articles which have been published in international peer review journals and Reviewer of SCIENCEDOMAIN international journals (i.e. Microbiology Research Journal International (MRJI), Journal of Applied Life Sciences International (JALSI), International Journal of Biochemistry Research and Review, Journal of Advances in Microbiology and European Journal of Medicinal Plants (EJMP). I have over 10 years’ working experience in Microbiology and Immunology and Medical Laboratory Sciences disciplines. Previously worked as a Lecturer at St. Augustine International University (August, 2014 to August, 2019), Part time Lecturer at Islamic University in Uganda-Kampala Campus (October, 2015 to December, 2016); Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Assistant at Kampala International University-Western Campus (November, 2009 to February, 2020). Others are Volunteer Medical Laboratory Technologist at the AIDS Information Centre (AIC), Jinja Branch, Uganda; Volunteer Research Assistant at Makerere University, Uganda; Assessor (in accreditation of programmes in Medicine and Health Sciences) for the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) (2015 to-date) and he is a member of Allied Health Professional Council, Ministry of Health, Uganda.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

    The project aims at understanding the connection between environmental factors and antibiotic resistance in the gut and mechanisms of dietary fibre-gut microbiota interactions and their implication on health. The project combines various expertise and technologies from food technology to gut microbiology, metagenomics and metabolomics.
