Dr Małgorzata Jacobs

 

Małgorzata Jacobs (née Kozyra) was born in Krakow. She studied German Philology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (UJ) and University of Zurich (UZH).

With the support of a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) PhD scholarship she attended the Linguistisches Internationales Promotionsprogramm (LIPP) of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in Munich. In 2014 she defended with distinction her PhD thesis titled „Aspektualität und Temporalität des kontemporären Jiddisch. Eine korpusbasierte Studie” at the LMU Munich in co-tutelle with UJ Krakow. She has published on aspectuality in Yiddish and German and corpus linguistics, has taken part in several international conferences and has set and edited the linguistic journal JournaLIPP.

She has worked for the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, the University of Konstanz, the Jagiellonian University and the Pedagogical University of Krakow.

From 2012 to 2016 she was coordinator of the “Corpus of Modern Yiddish” at the University of Regensburg.

Since 2016 she works for the Polish National Science Centre (NCN).

In her free time she is a figure skater and tennis amateur.
