Returning scientists can now submit their funding proposals for research components under NAWA Polish Returns 2025.
NAWA Polish Returns is a programme launched by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) enabling outstanding Polish scientists working abroad to return to Poland and continue their research in Polish research institutions, universities, and research institutes. Junior and senior fellows may apply for funding to establish their research teams, carry out research projects and undertake development work. Read more about the programme.
The collaboration with the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange enables the National Science Centre to fund research components carried out by returning scientists under NAWA Polish Returns.
NCN’s call for proposals is open to researchers who have been awarded funding under the NAWA Polish Returns 2025, and whose proposals include research components. Such components must have a positive recommendation from the NAWA evaluation team.
Research components can be carried out over the first eighteen months of the project period. The maximum funding of one research component is PLN 200 thousand. The NCN Council has allocated PLN 2 million for research components under the NAWA Polish Returns 2025.
Funding proposals for research components must be submitted via the OSF submission system. NCN performs the eligibility check of proposals only, whereas NAWA is in charge of the merit-based evaluation.
