Social Transformations and Resilience Partnership candidate
In the context of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe, the European Commission has proposed a new co-funded European Partnership on Social Transformations and Resilience (STR). This Partnership has been included as one of the nine new candidates to be launched under the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025-2027.
European Partnership
European Partnerships are key instruments in Horizon Europe, which bring together the European Commission and private and/or public sector stakeholders to address some of Europe’s most pressing challenges through research and innovation. These partnerships aim to leverage the combined expertise and resources at EU, national and regional level, and ensure sustained impact through long- term strategic planning and funding of research and innovation actions.
The aim of the Social Transformations and Resilience Partnership
- Create a 7–10-year Research and Innovation (R&I) programme between the social sciences and humanities (SSH) to explore and make use of their potential to build resilience, ensure fairness and inclusiveness, and foster social cohesion in the light of changes in climate and environment, technology, demography, and unexpected shocks.
- Develop knowledge, tools and innovative solutions to address contemporary social challenges in a collaborative, interdisciplinary and systematic way.
- Contribute to new strategies and policy solutions at European, national, and regional

Expected Partners
A co-funded Partnership involves research funders and public authorities at the core of its consortium. However, research organisations, social partners, civil society organisations, social economy enterprises, and other stakeholders can participate too, as partners or as potential beneficiaries of future joint calls of the Partnership.
