A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Wrocław. During her studies, she took part in the anti-communist student strikes in 1988 and 1989. After the postgraduate internship, she completed her doctoral project at the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Wrocław. Since 2013, she has worked at the Faculty of Biotechnology at the University of Wrocław, where she particularly enjoys teaching immunology and cancer biology. She completed a short postdoctoral internship at Radium Hospital in Oslo, in the team of Professor Sjur Olsnes.
Her research is on the border of haematology and immunology, in particular she is interested in therapies leading to maturation of blasts of acute myeloid leukaemias.
She is a PI in research projects awarded by the Committee for Scientific Research, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the National Science Centre, the Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Horizon Europe.
