Applicants: doctoral researchers who have carried out or are carrying out, as Principal Investigators, research projects funded by the NCN, and are not European Research Council (ERC) grantees and plan to apply for ERC grants
Fellowship duration: 3-6 months
Funding:
- grant for fellowship travel and subsistence costs
- within this grant researchers may not seek funding for research equipment
Applicants are required to:
- put forward a project description to be submitted under the ERC call for proposals
- plan a fellowship in an ERC-funded project carried out outside of Poland
- indicate an ERC grantee acting as a host for the applicant
- submit, within 18 months of the completion of the fellowship, a proposal for an ERC grant to be conducted in a host institution in Poland
Evaluation criteria:
- proposals from within NCN Panels, involving basic research,
- research portfolio of the applicant,
- scientific excellence of the research project planned to be submitted to the ERC, including the innovative character of the research proposed and its impact on the development of the research discipline,
- appropriate choice of the ERC grantee and his/her host institution
Evaluation procedure: 2-step merit-based evaluation by peer review panels and external reviewers; applicants qualified to the second stage of evaluation are invited for an interview carried out in English
Application: project description must be written in English
