Dr Marta Dubowska

Holder of MA in Law (2017) from the Faculty of Law and Administration, Jagiellonian University; a BA in Theatre Studies (2017); and an MA in Performance Studies (2019) from the Faculty of Polish Studies, Jagiellonian University. In 2024, she defended her doctoral thesis entitled ”The (non)-obvious relationship between law and literature,” which explores the Law and Literature movement, the issue of interdisciplinarity of legal sciences, and humanistic legal education.

She completed a three-month fellowship at the University of Bologna (2023) as a Bekker NAWA scholarship holder, and spent the fall semester as a Visiting Scholar at Cardozo School of Law in New York, under the supervision of Prof. Peter Goodrich. She was the principal investigator of the PRELUDIUM grant (2020-2024) entitled ’The Structure of Legal Narratives.' Her research interests focus on the intersection of law and the humanities (law and literature, law and theatre, law and visual media), as well as legal education, and legal narratives. Her non-academic interests include theatre production and culture management.

Since June 2025, she has worked as Coordinator for Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts at the National Science Centre.
