An archaeologist specializing in archaeozoology. She completed her MA and PhD studies at the Department of Archaeology of the Faculty of History at the Jagiellonian University. She received a PhD scholarship between 2008-2010 and, in 2018, defended (with honours) a PhD dissertation entitled "Gospodarka hodowlana na obszarach lessowych Zachodniej Małopolski, w środkowej i późnej epoce brązu oraz wczesnej epoce żelaza" ["Breeding Economy in the Loess Areas of Western Lesser Poland in the Middle and Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age"]. During her MA programme, she completed a one-year archaeozoology fellowship at the Department of Bioarchaeology of the University of Warsaw. She also took a course in archaeozoology at the University of Sheffield (Department of Archaeology). She is an expert in the identification of excavated animal bone remains, as well as the author of several dozen specialist archaeozoological analyses and seven articles on the prehistoric breeding economy published in scientific journals. She has presented her research results at many conferences in Poland and beyond. As a member of the Association of Environmental Archaeology, she has taken part in numerous projects and archaeological expeditions, e.g. in Nakum in Guatemala.
Between 2014 and 2020, she served as a deputy inspector at the Department of Culture and National Heritage at the Marshal's Office of the Voivodeship of Lesser Poland, where she was in charge of investments in cultural infrastructure and, later on, of soft projects in the culture sector.
In March 2020, she was appointed as a Discipline Coordinator for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the National Science Centre.
Horse riding and skiing are her lifelong passions.
